Philadelphia, PA, September 22, 2008 – ABMS approved ABIM’s proposal to establish a secondary subspecialty certification in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. This certification will establish standards for cardiologists with the experience and competencies necessary to treat patients with advanced or complex presentations of heart failure and those requiring cardiac transplantation.
